(August 10, 2018, 6:24 pm)A long-time local mainstay, Pier 72 occupies a ground-floor chunk of a prewar apartment building on the southeast corner of 72nd Street and West End Avenue. Open only until 6PM, it serves reliable diner fare, with solid breakfast dishes and a comfortable hamburger. They deliver to the nearby neighborhood. Everyone in the neighborhood goes there at one time or another, and you will occasionally see celebrities who live in the Upper West Side shoulder to shoulder with the rest of us.
